Above All Hope by Tammy Lang Jensen
As I sat quietly waiting on the Lord this morning, seeking wisdom and guidance for Christmas Day. He said, “There are mice in the attic!”

Things packed away, but never dealt with; will try and steal your holiday.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). On your darkest day, the sun can quickly appear. Reminding you that things can change in an instant. Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard (Isaiah 58:8). What are you believing the Lord for, what one thing leaves tears upon your pillow. Your silent suffering, your private trial.

Can you Hope above all Hope, can you trust the Lord one more time. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:13). Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only (James 2:21-24). So what is it then, if you say you believe but don’t act on that belief. It is a sorrowful thing, if a man says he will follow me, and then does not. Looking at the man Jesus felt genuine love for him. There is still one thing you have not done, he told him. Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me (Mark 10:21).

And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24). So I say it again, “There are mice in the attic!” Things packed away, that could have been given away. Hoarded, and ruined by mice; instead of released and blessing someone. A jacket to warm the man on the corner, a sofa to a friend who can’t afford their own.

What are you holding in your hand, that God has asked you to release? Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal (Matthew 6:19). Let go of it today, as a beautiful Christmas gift to your savior! You are blessed, to be a blessing. Your Father in heaven is never trying to get something from you, but trying to get something to you! LET GO AND LET GOD....
