Be Different For Jesus’ Sake by John Hagee
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you

Be Different For Jesus’ Sake
A genuine Christian provokes opposition because he is different.  We don’t fit in.  Our speech is different.  Our attitudes are different.  We’ve changed from hateful and vindictive personalities to discover the blueprint to happiness in meekness, mercy and peacemaking.  Our differences make us hated by the carnal world, which is controlled by Satan.

• Abel was murdered by Cain because he was different.

• Joseph was sent to prison for refusing to have sex with the boss’s wife.  That was different!

• The three Hebrews refused to bow to the idol of Nebuchadnezzar when the masses of humanity didn’t dare defy the king’s order.  They were different!

• Daniel preferred to be sent to the lions’ den than to give up his morning prayer time with the true God.  He was different!

• Jesus was different, as we’ve seen.  Paul was different, too.

The question is, are we different from the world around us?  If the apostles came back from their graves to fellowship with us, would they have to backslide to do the things we do?  If we were on trial for being Christians, would there be enough evidence to convict us?

We don’t want to be different just for the sake of being different; we want to be different for Jesus’ sake!
