This is what God spoke through the prophet Isaiah: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

God is asking us, “Do you recognize the new thing I’m doing in your life?” He is saying, “Don’t wait to have faith when the situation takes care of itself because I’m doing some new things right now. Look for it! Watch and see what I will do. It is a new thing!”

My Children, You are Free by Deborah Waldron Fry
"GAME OVER"
I saw in the Spirit a "game" going on. The enemy was "playing" it with Believers.

They were hiding behind trees and rocks, hiding themselves in fear of being discovered, of being tagged by the enemy and losing this evil "game" and their very lives. But I saw Jesus in all His Glory step into this "Game of Life," and call out, " Come forth, My Children, You are FREE."

The enemy was the one cowering now and the players all stepped into the LIGHT, totally free, victorious in Him! The Rocks and the Trees are symbols of Jesus. All along they had been HIDDEN in Him, they just had not known it.

"Oh My Hidden Ones, My Offspring and My Greatly Beloved. The game is over. It has been cancelled. I have SHUT IT DOWN. The devil has desired to make sport of you, but I have come to set you free from this manipulation. No longer shall he intimidate you with threats and coercion. The devil and his demons are sly. But I have given you My Spirit.

You have the Mind of Christ. You do not have to hide yourself in fear, for I have hidden you in Christ. You, My Child, shall walk in My open air with no fear. You have been set free by the Son. You walk in the Light and the realms of heavenly Glory and Grace. I have not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Rise up, My Warriors. Yahweh is with you. When the enemy comes with his lies and deceptions, you tell him," GAME OVER". Your Jesus has WON IT ALL!! "

GAME: verb 1.manipulate (a situation), typically in a way that is unfair or unscrupulous. noun:2. a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one

...Rev 22:2 Christ, the Tree of Life: The text tells us that, in the center of the new paradise, the perfect paradise of God, from which the saints shall never be driven, seeing it is to be our perpetual heritage, there is also a tree of life. But here we translate the metaphor; we do not understand that tree to be literal. We believe our Lord Jesus Christ to be none other than that tree of life, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. We can scarcely conceive of any other interpretation, as this seems to us to be so full of meaning, and to afford us such unspeakable satisfaction. (Charles Spurgeon)

...2 Samuel 22:2 “The Lord is my ROCK and my fortress and my deliverer, 3my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. 4I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.

...1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, the One giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Avoid Wrong Associations by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them (Romans 16:17).

The scripture above admonishes us to mark and avoid those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine of Christ. You’ve been taught the love of Christ; you’ve been indoctrinated with the Word of God in a certain direction; continue in the Word. Mark and avoid those who live contrary to the truth of the Gospel; the truth that you’ve been taught. This is God’s instruction. It’s the same warning He gave through the Apostle Paul to the Philippian church; he said, “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision” (Philippians 3:2).

Now, this admonition is primarily for us to stay away from those in the church who don’t follow the truth, who cause dissension and strife. When you see a sign in a building that says, “Beware of dogs,” the sign isn’t telling you about the dogs outside that building, but the ones inside that particular house. So, when the Apostle Paul said, “Beware of dogs; beware of evil workers; beware of the concision,” he was referring to mischief makers in the Church.

These could be people in the same local church, same cell group, same estate, neighbourhood, office, etc., and they’re Christians. He wouldn’t warn you about them if He didn’t think your association with them would be inimical to your Christian walk. Many have found themselves in serious trouble for fraternizing with the wrong people. The Lord’s admonition is clear: you’re to “mark” and “avoid” mischief makers, not try to change them. Don’t keep company with people who deliberately don’t walk in love, people who engender disunity in the Church; divisive elements who mislead others.

People get messed up when they get involved with a messed up person. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” If you’ve had, or have friends with whom you’re not experiencing any meaningful spiritual progress, or whose friendship hinders your effectiveness in the Gospel, it’s high time you gave up such friendships. Don’t negotiate; just end it, so your participation in the faith—your Christian life—would be effectual as it should be. Glory to God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you, for your Word is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Through the Word, I’m trained and cultured in the godly life and ways of doing things. I’m filled with thoughts of righteousness, and walk in the path of righteousness, which you prearranged for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Open Heavens: Wives, Learn From Leah by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Wednesday March 20th 2019
Memorise: A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16

Read: Genesis 30:14-18 (KJV)
14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.
15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes.
16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.
17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.
18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

Message:
The Almighty in His wisdom designed the world in such a way that every person has an area of comparative advantage in life.

However, it takes wisdom for an individual to make the best legitimate use of his or her comparative advantage to prosper in this world. This is why the Bible says wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7). The Bible further says in Proverbs 14:1:

“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

Leah, the first of Jacob, was someone who used what she had wisely in order to succeed in the hostile marriage she found herself in. We can therefore learn a lot from her. Whether by accident or the design of her father, Leah married an unwilling Jacob. However, the Lord in His sovereignty made her very fruitful in the area of child-bearing, and this made up for what she lacked in her husband’s eyes. Being a wise woman, she used this blessing of fruitfulness to her advantage in opposition to Rachel, her sister-turned-rival, who unlike her was attractive and her husband’s favourite. Without this, Rachel would have totally dominated Leah in Jacob’s home.

Leah managed to keep her matrimonial home through wisdom. Unfortunately, many Christian sisters foolishly throw away their marriages to home-breakers and other third parties because they fail to apply wisdom and self-control. Their coldness makes them so detached from their husbands that they end up becoming strangers to one other. Leah was wise and possessed the fruit of longsuffering, which she used to her advantage at every given opportunity to draw her husband closer to herself.

Moreover, take note of what Leah said in Genesis 30:15a:

“And she said unto her, is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband?”

In spite of Jacob’s animosity towards her, she believed she was Jacob’s lawful wife, and it paid off for her down the line. Even though her husband did not reciprocate her love, she focused on her home, and she successfully produced more than half of the twelve tribes of Israel, including the priesthood tribe of Levi and the royal tribe of Judah. Today, some Church leaders dissolve marriages with impunity, using social and psychological models to justify their claims against biblical injunctions. This should not be so. What is that challenge facing your marriage? Take it to the Lord in prayer, asking Him for wisdom to handle it, and you will laugh last. You have the strength not only to cope but also to overcome! Go ahead and use it, and God will give you respite in your home.

Prayer Point
Father, Father, send Your peace to all homes that are in disarray in Jesus’ Name.

Be Clothed With Humility by Kenneth Copeland
And be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

1 Peter 5:5

Most believers don't know anything about true humility. If you tell them they're the righteousness of God, they'll fight to keep from believing it. You can give them scripture references to prove it, and they'll still argue.

"Oh no," they'll say, "I'm not righteous. I'm just an old sinner saved by grace." They're making a sincere attempt to be humble. But they're sincerely wrong. They're so afraid of being exalted by pride that they've let Satan trick them into falling right into it.

Let me show you what I mean. According to 1 Peter 5:5-6, to be truly humble is to submit to God. That means when God says something, you believe it no matter how foreign to your "religious" thinking it may be. When He says you've been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, you say that too. In fact, you wouldn't dare say anything else because to do so would be to dare to disagree with God. And, when you get right down to it, that's the ultimate form of pride, isn't it?

Don't let Satan keep you groveling in the dust of false humility. Agree with God. Find out what His Word says about you, then be bold enough to say it yourself. Banish pride by submitting to His truth. Clothe yourself in true humility. It's sure to look good on you.

1 Peter 5:5-11

Standing Firm by Billy Graham
So use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.
—Ephesians 6:13 (TLB)

Daniel and his companions were tempted to forsake their godly heritage, but they refused. They even faced a fiery furnace rather than compromise.

God honored their faith and mightily used them. Moses was surrounded by the luxury and godlessness of the Egyptian court, but cast in his lot with his own people.

Lot lived in Sodom and saw the obscenities of that doomed city. God saved him out of it because he trusted in Him. Every one of our Lord’s apostles sealed their faith with their lives. Since then, history has been replete with the lives of men who have put God and His way of life above all else.

Prayer for the day
Help me to stand by faith in You, when I am tempted, almighty God.

If You Want to Know God’s Will, Just Open Your Bible by Rick Warren
“God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure. Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool?” (Psalm 19:11-12 The Message).

Most of God’s will is already revealed. The principles are there! When you open your Bible, God opens his mouth and starts talking. Are you waiting for God to write his will in the sky? Why would he need to do that when he’s already written it in a book? Open the Bible daily, and see what God says.
Stop listening for a voice, and start looking for a verse.

“God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure. Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool?” (Psalm 19:11-12 The Message).

God will teach you his principles. Then, when you’re looking for guidance, you can see if your circumstances or your emotions line up with God’s Word. The Bible will confirm God’s will.

And keep this in mind: God expects you to obey what you already know before he shows you something new. So if God has already told you want he expects you to do and you haven’t done it yet, don’t expect him to show you the next step. He’s waiting for you to take the first step.

I’ve asked you before to practice meditating on God’s Word and that you could use Psalm 23 to start. To meditate on God’s Word means to think deeply and focus on God’s Word for a period of time. First, read the passage slowly, perhaps out loud a few times, placing emphasis on different words or phrases. Second, reflect on the truth of the text. Third, respond to God in light of what you’ve just read—this may be quietly or out loud. Fourth, rest in the Word of God, listening for what God has to say through the Scripture.

You only have to open your Bible to know what God’s will for your life is. Then, you have to spend time reading and studying it so it can transform your heart and mind.

PLAY today’s audio teaching from Pastor Rick
Talk It Over

Psalm 23:3 says, “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake” (NIV). What is God’s purpose in your obedience?
How does God’s Word reveal his will for you if it doesn’t say specifically what decision you should make?
Why does God want you to do more than just read the Bible? What is the purpose of meditating on God’s Word?

Energize by Joyce Meyer
And there are [distinctive] ways of working [to accomplish things], but it is the same God who produces all things in all believers [inspiring, energizing, and empowering them].

— 1 Corinthians 12:6 (AMP)

To energize means, "to give strength or force to; to give active vigor to."

All of our thoughts, good or bad, have an effect on our physical being. The mind and body are definitely connected. Positive, hopeful thoughts energize our soul and physical bodies, whereas negative, hopeless thoughts drain our energy.

Physical tiredness is not always a result of wrong thinking. We can certainly have a sickness or disease that leads to a loss of energy, or we may even wake up tired for no known reason. But we do know that science and medical technology verify that the mind and body have a close connection, and that our thinking does have a direct effect on our body.

Our bodies are like automobiles that God provides for us to drive around on earth. If we want them to perform to their maximum ability and be energized, then we need to choose to think in ways that will help fuel them.

Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me to choose positive, hopeful, faith-filled thoughts today—thoughts that agree with Your Word and will energize my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Keep Praying by Dr. Charles Stanley
Matthew 7:7-11

The most powerful thing a Christian can do is pray. Yet how often are we guilty of making prayer our last resort or giving up on it if the answer isn’t immediately forthcoming? Perhaps it’s this human tendency that prompted Jesus to remind us to persevere in speaking with our Father.

The verb tenses of today’s passage in the original Greek could be translated as “keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.” To persevere means to continue firmly on a particular course despite the obstacles or difficulties. It’s not a passive approach of asking once and sitting back to wait for the Lord’s intervention. The words seek and knock imply action and effort in discerning God’s will and moving in that direction.

In fact, discovering God’s will is the very purpose of perseverance—not to override it or get Him to change His mind and do things our way. Through steadfastness in prayer, we learn to focus on the Lord’s faithfulness instead of our circumstances, which may show no signs of changing. Praying tenaciously builds our trust and at the same time teaches us to depend on God instead of rushing ahead to get what we want.

God promises that in time we will be given an answer, find what we seek, and walk through an open door. That’s when we discover our heavenly Father always gives us what is good, even if it doesn’t look exactly the way we expect or fit our timetable. Through His answers, we gain greater faith in Him and insight into what He deems good. Then we’ll know how to pray more wisely according to His will the next time we have a need.

The Value of Something by John Hagee
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen!

Jesus is a Savior worth having. When it comes to determining the value of something, people often base their estimation on what it can do. Why choose many things when we can choose one thing with a multitude of functions? We want an impressive array of applications and capabilities. The more things something can do, the greater its value to us and the greater its impact on our lives.

Consider, for instance, our smart phones. Only a few decades ago, our phones were affixed to our kitchen walls. Today, we all carry one in our pockets or purses. No longer are they simply tools to communicate, they boast a variety of practical applications. They capture photos, allow us to pay bills online, order a birthday gift, or check into our home security systems. We find them invaluable, irreplaceable.

If it is a multitude of applications you seek, Jesus has the answer you need. As today’s verse indicates, He is able to do anything that we could ask or even think to ask. And then, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above even those things. Even more than those things that have entered our limited brains, He comes to give those things we are unaware we will need, that we have not been able to articulate, all that we need for abundant life.

He has created each one of us with divine destiny, with a Godly purpose. When we accept Him as Savior (yet another gift!), we say yes to all those plans that He has for us. And when we run up against those God-sized tasks and realize that we do not have what it takes…look at today’s verse. The power that we need is already working inside of us. He does not leave us helpless. As we are going about His work, He will fill us up with joy and peace. And above all? We are completely, utterly, unquestionably loved. He knows our names, our thoughts…even the number of hairs on our heads (or not!).

All things become possible through Jesus. The very best that we can imagine is Jesus just getting started. Oh, what He can do for us. Oh, what He has already done for us. He removes the limits. Jesus is a Savior worth having.

Blessing:

Heavenly Father, Your generosity towards us is overwhelming. I’m so thankful for that power that is already at work in me to help me perform the God-sized tasks You have in mind. I surrender to Your plan. Stir up the power and Your gifts inside me. Here I am. Send me. In the name of Jesus…Amen.

A Joint Heir With Jesus by Jerry Savelle
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:16-17 NKJV)

Because God is your Father, you are an heir of God. You have an inheritance, and the good news is, you don’t have to wait until you get to heaven to enjoy the benefits.

Some people believe the Bible teaches that they get their inheritance from God when they die, like some kind of heavenly reward for clean living. But this is not true. As a joint heir with Jesus, you got your inheritance from God when Jesus died.

Jesus is the only person who has ever lived, died, and was then raised from the dead to see to it that His will was carried out—that His joint heirs got their inheritance. As a joint heir with Jesus, you’re entitled to healing; it’s your inheritance. You’re entitled to prosperity; it’s your inheritance. You’re entitled to victory and success; they are your inheritance.

Don’t wait until you get to heaven to enjoy the inheritance God has provided for you through Jesus Christ. It’s yours now, so claim it in the name of Jesus!

Confession: Thank You, Father, for making me a joint heir with Jesus Christ. I believe I receive my inheritance today. I receive my healing, my prosperity, my victory, and my success now—in Jesus’ name.

The Blood of Jesus Protects by Joseph Prince
Exodus 12:13

…And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

For 400 years, the children of Israel were slaves in Egypt. Life for them was one of hard labor, pain, loss and even death. When Moses their deliverer came, what soon followed was one plague after another on the Egyptians. But none of the plagues caused Pharaoh to release the Israelites until they put the blood on their doorposts. What nine plagues could not do, the blood did! The Israelites were finally set free because of the blood.

Are you under any kind of bondage? Are your loved ones held captive by the destroyer who is bent on destroying them? Plead the blood of the Lamb of God over all that is yours and your family’s. When nothing else seems to work, His blood always works!

When I was a teenager doing a stint as a relief teacher in a primary school, one of the girls in my class was absent from school one day. I didn’t think too much about her absence until I returned home that afternoon. As I was praying, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray for her protection and to cover her with the precious blood of Jesus.

It was revealed later on that she had been abducted by a notorious serial killer who had murdered a number of young children. My pupil recounted how she had been tied up and offered to the “deities” the killer had in his flat. Miraculously, he released her when the evil spirits found her to be an unsuitable offering.

Why was this pupil released unharmed? I believe that she was presented to the deities on the same afternoon that I pleaded the blood of Jesus over her. Of course, the evil spirits did not want her because the Most High God would not allow them to have her. God was protecting her. She was set free because of the blood of Jesus!

You see, when you plead the blood of Jesus, the destroyer cannot come near. When he sees the blood, he must respect the blood. He cannot touch what is covered by the blood. The blood of Jesus truly protects and sets you free!

Trust God's Wisdom by Joel Osteen
"...For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish."
Isaiah 46:9–10, NLT

TODAY'S WORD:

Many people pray very boldly for things that never come to pass; it's only later that they realize what a blessing it was that God did not answer their prayer! It’s easy to look at our current situation and wonder why that relationship didn’t work out, why the promotion went to someone else, or why the business deal fell through.

We can only see one moment at a time, but God knows how today's situations will impact us tomorrow, next week, or even ten years from now! Sometimes the best thing that can happen to you is the exact opposite of what you want to happen at the time. God knows the end from the beginning, and He always has the sequence of events in your life in perfect order. Stay in faith and trust that just as God opens doors, He also closes doors because He has something better in store for you. You’re about to see new growth, new talents, new opportunities.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

God, I'm so glad that You have the infinite wisdom to take perfect care of me. Give me the ability to rest in Your wisdom and not rely on my own. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Matchless Love by Tammy Lang Jensen
My love for you is matchless, like the finest of oils; myrrh and cassia. I have come to cleanse, sanctify and purify the bride unto myself.

Have your lamp full of oil and your robe dripped in blood. Sprinkle the altar with hyssop, so the fire of Heaven falls. Another page has just been turned in the annuals of heaven.

You must search diligently for the ancient keys that open doorways in heaven. Destiny moments, helpers of God, hidden just out of sight. At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split (Matthew 27:51). This renting of the veil, and dividing of the rock has given you access.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). What is the ancient key that allows us audience with the King of kings, the Lord of host. Nothing but the blood of Jesus, that wipes away our sins. As I closed my eyes, I saw the Lord beckoning me to come and sit by a babbling brook with him. He said,”Do you hear the sound of the water running over the rocks?”

Now listen closer, do you hear the sound of rushing wind? That is the wind of refreshing I am sending for my people. My worn out saints, that have started to feel more like “The Weeping Prophet!” Jeremiah was given a six-fold task to pluck up and pull down, to destroy and overthrow, and to build and to plant. The Lord is calling many in this hour to be a battle ax, to hack at the root of things. He is also giving out hammers of authority to get the job done. It will be no easy task to come against old mindsets and religious doctrine of man. But if he called you to it, he will walk you through it.

This is the hour of new wine, and the stripping, purging, brokenness and tears have been about creating new wine skins. Neither do men poor new wine into old wine skins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will spill, and the wine skins will be ruined. Instead, they pour new wine into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved (Matthew 9:17). I am a jealous God, vessels that put other people or things before me will not be tolerated. I am coming to smash down altars and destroy pagan gods. I hear kingdom alignment and kingdom assignments. Recently, have you noticed a shift in your circle of friends? No need to worry, God is arranging things perfectly in this hour. In Him we were chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will (Ephesians 1:11).

So when you look to heaven and pray,”Not my will Father, but your will be done!” Be sure you are ready for the answer. May the Lord‘s favor rest upon you and may he establish the work of your hands. May he diligently guide your steps on a path you will understand. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.

You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail (Isaiah 58:11). So why do you continue to doubt him? You really only have two choices. To believe the good report of the Lord, or the lies of the enemy whose mouth is full of deceit. Say no to the deception and yes to the redemption of the Lord. Redeem us Lord, we wait patiently for you....

Don't Allow Distractions by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (1 John 2:15).

Christ Jesus already provided everything you need to be triumphant, successful, and prosperous in life. Therefore, you have no reason to be distracted or to take your focus off fulfilling His call on your life

Distractions can come in different ways to impede your passion, and stop you from being all that the Lord has destined for you to be. They can come in the form of needs; the things you want or things you want to do, whether or not they’re working out. Distractions can also come from people such as relatives, parents, friends, who try to shift your focus to something different from God’s calling on your life.

Nonetheless, in whatever way or shade distractions come, refuse to allow them. Understand that as a Christian, especially when you’re making an impact with the Gospel, you’ll face persecutions; there’ll be those who’ll be against you, or even hate you, but that shouldn’t be a surprise to you at all. Jesus said, “...If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you...” (John 15:20). But guess what? It makes no difference who’s against you; you’re forever a victor; you’re more than a conqueror.

Distractions can come from the devil too. He can bring such thoughts to you as, “Do you think you’re supposed to be a Christian? What has this Christianity even done for you?” Never entertain such thoughts; when they come, refute them and say, “Get thee hence, Satan, for thou savoureth not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.”

Keep fueling your love for the Master, and refuse to allow anything dissipate your zeal; anything that’ll prevent you from putting your best in the Gospel. Once you’re able to eliminate distractions in your life, you’ll notice remarkable improvements in your personality, output and influence. Maintain your focus; be the best of you for the Lord and His eternal Kingdom.

CONFESSION:
My life is for the glory of God; my attention is fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith! I refuse to be distracted by anyone or anything in this world, for I’m set on the course that I must follow. I’m fulfilling God’s call and purpose for my life, and always, my strength is renewed in Him. Praise God!

Open Heavens: Husbands, Learn from Joseph by by Pastor E.A Adeboye
Tuesday March 19th 2019
Memorise: [Charity] beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1st Corinthians 13:7

Read: Matthew 1:18-25 (KJV)
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Message:
One thing our world needs now, more than ever before, is love. This is why today; we will be studying love in action, taking a look at Joseph, the husband of Mary.

After having been betrothed to Joseph, Mary was chosen by God to be the vessel of honour that He would use to bring the Saviour of mankind into the world. She was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and became pregnant out of wedlock.

If Joseph did not take responsibility for this pregnancy, a great calamity would have befallen Mary and put the salvation of mankind in jeopardy, because she would have been stoned to death as required under Jewish law.

Thankfully, Joseph stepped up and covered Mary by marrying her. One lesson we can learn from this incident is that our God is perfect in judgment. He carefully chose a just man to be the husband of His chosen vessel. If Joseph had been a wicked soul, he would have made a public show of what happened to Mary, even though she did nothing wrong. Being a righteous man, he planned to divorce Mary privately to avert the shame and adverse judgment that would have befallen her by Mosaic Law, until he discovered that she was pregnant by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins (1st Peter 4:8). As a husband, would you excel if tested in the school of love? To avoid a lifetime of agony, Christian ladies should also learn from this story that when choosing a life-partner, he must be a God-fearing man who shares their faith.

“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Matthew 1:22-23

Some unexpected things happen in marriage to fulfill a divine purpose, and as believers we need to understand that they will always work together for our good (Romans 8:28). Husbands need to learn self discipline from Joseph’s example. Matthew 1:25 says of him:

“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”

When it comes to sexual intercourse, some husband cannot hold themselves, even for a day! They terrify and harass their wives into having sex without consent. While it is true that the woman’s body belongs to her husband, the word of God also encourages mutual consent between husband and wife in the area of sexual intimacy (1st Corinthians 7:5). Are you abiding by this standard?

Key Point
Have you gone the extra mile to bring joy and gladness to your spouse through the expression of love and understanding?

Stand Against the Devil's Strategies! by Kenneth Copeland
Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].

Ephesians 4:27, The Amplified Bible

If you give the devil place, he will take it. You have to stay alert and keep your shield of faith high because if you don't, he'll turn around and steal back from you the ground you just took.

There have been people who have received their healing and have fallen back into their old thinking patterns of sickness. They let their faith down and gave the devil an opening. When he came along with an old symptom, they weren't ready for him. They fell victim to his counterattack.

You can stand successfully against the devil's strategies! But before you do, you're going to have to make three quality decisions.

First, you must make the Word of God the final authority in your life. Line up your thinking with whatever the Word says.

Next, you must decide to live your life by faith in what God has said. The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17, New King James Version).

Finally, you must decide to live by the love of God because faith works by love. Without love, your faith won't function. Without the Word, you can't have faith. So don't try to make one of these decisions without the other two. You need to make all three of them. This lifestyle of the Word, faith and love keeps you in a place of resistance to the devil!

I suggest you get alone with God and pray:

In the Name of Jesus, I commit myself from this day forward to live by the Word of God, to live by my faith, and to live by the love of God.

Decide today to give the devil no place!

Scripture Reading:
John 15:7-12
